In the 1980s, the Blazers were led by players such as Mychal Thompson, Clyde Drexler, Jim Paxson and Terry Porter.

In the late 1990s/early 2000s, the Blazers were led by players Kenny Anderson, Damon Stoudamire, Steve Smith and Brian Grant. However, the Blazers were unable to get back to the NBA finals. In recent years, the Blazers have been led by a new group of young and talented basketball stars, including LaMarcus Aldridge, Wesley Matthews and Brandon Roy, and the Blazers continue to thrill their fans with playoff contending teams.
